Many Stories Are Yet Untold

How do you know if you’re too old to travel? Is there any age-bar?

Rita had a dream last night. She was roaming around a forest in her dream. The fresh aroma of the magnificent green was peeping through her senses. Rajat was somewhere behind, busy capturing clicks of some rare birds. All at once, a muddy stone caught her glance. It’s engraved on the stone (someone might have written with a stick),

“I might be old,

But I am bold.

Many stories are yet untold…”

Just at that point of time she wakes up. But those three lines she’s not being able to forget since then. Truth be told, for the last couple of weeks, Rita and Rajat have been thinking of planning a trip to Tanzania. Africa has always been their dream destination. Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana or South Africa – it’s hard to ignore the attraction of this land of wonders. But Rita and Rajat are already in their mid-seventies. Would it be a wise decision to take this risk?

Senior teenagers

Let Rita and Rajat decide on their own, but you tell me one thing, does it sound similar to your story? Do you sometimes feel that being on the other side of middle age restricts your desire of travelling across the globe? Then you mustn’t have heard of the term ‘Seenagers’ means ‘Senior teenagers’. Your ability to travel doesn’t necessarily depend on your age. If you are physically fit and mentally sound, go for your next big world tour. Who knows- this could be your lifetime experience!

Not only pilgrimage

It’s only a stereotype now-a-days that pilgrimage travel is the sole gateway for our ‘Seenagers’. Instead, Mongolia to Madagascar, Botswana to Baltic Republics – the wanderlust of the senior travelers is breaking all the typical barriers and welcoming all the exotic destinations across the globe. Some of them are even going for solo trips or adventure trips full of challenges like paragliding, kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving river-rafting.

Senior focused travel agencies

Observing the growing trend of senior travelers (with family or without), many travel companies have come up with customized and personalized tour plans to serve the senior citizen wanderlusters. They provide end-to-end travel planning and the services keeping in mind the exigencies of the senior travelers.

So, what about Rita and Rajat and their plan for Africa trip? Some years ago, their brother-in-law dropped the plan of going to Ladakh last-minute as he was too afraid of travelling to high altitude at the age of 68. But then there was Mrs. Roy Gupta, who travelled to Antarctica with her 83-year-old father. Yes, it’s always better to be careful and full-proof about proper planning and maximum ability, but as far as travelling is concerned, age should and would never be a restraint! It’s indeed never too old to travel!

Reading your story I am thinking of becoming a teenager ( seenager???) again. Can I?
